This program is unique in that it serves all residents of St. Clair County. Prevention, care and treatment of mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) are the programs’ primary focus. Multiple services are available from screenings to primary care treatment for cases of tuberculosis disease and infection. Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) for tuberculosis medication administration is administered in the home and community for cases of tuberculosis.
Care and treatment activities for TB include:
- Chest X-rays
- Clinical and field visits
- Medication
- Education for clients and information for medical providers
- In-services for information and education
Skin testing services are provided at a nominal charge based on a sliding scale fee.
Testing can be done form 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. No skin testing can be done on Thursdays. This test requires two clinic appointments. One to place the test and a return appoint 48 or 72 hours later for the reading of the test.
