HIV Prevention Program

 

Program or Service Description:
The purpose of this program is to increase knowledge and awareness of the issues concerning HIV/AIDS prevention. The program seeks to educate the community, especially high-risk persons and their partners, with an emphasis on the various aspects HIV prevention.



What are the goals of the program?
The goal of this program is to reduce the number of HIV infections in the Metro East area (Region 4) to as close to zero as possible.

Who is this program/service for?
Open to all persons with a special emphasis on targeted populations defined as high-risk. The CDC has identified the following populations for special outreach efforts as MSM (men who have sex with men), IDU (intravenous drug users) and HRH (high risk heterosexuals).

Who is eligible for this program/service?
Participants must be residents of one of the Region 4 counties, which include St. Clair, Clinton, Bond, Fayette, Jefferson, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Randolph and Washington.
